We first met at our college move in day at Dalton State on August 13, 2016. On September 15, Nick and I sat across from each other at the dining hall. It did not take long before we got lost in our conversation and realized that the only other people in the dining hall with us were the cleanup crew. Later that night, my sorority and his fraternity went out to eat together. We started dating February 11, 2017. Most of our relationship has been long-distance, which is why our wedding hashtag is "#150MilesLater."
On July 25, 2020, I was a bridesmaid for one of my college friends. Nick had brought something for us to do during the weekend and would not tell me what it was until that morning. I love doing puzzles, so he got one with our picture on it. However, the bottom was missing. After catching the bouquet and garter at the wedding, we headed back to my house where the puzzle was completed and said, "Alanna, will you marry me?" with Nick down on one knee. I guess the catching of the bouquet and garter tradition works!
