Question

How is COVID-19 affecting the wedding celebration?

Answer

We kindly ask that everyone ensure they are fully vaccinated if you plan to attend our wedding celebration, unless medically unable. Aimee is currently high-risk due to her pregnancy, and would like to mitigate chances of getting sick. Masking for vaccinated individuals is not required. We trust you to be honest regarding your vaccination status and respect the safety of all attending. Out of respect for our high-risk guests, we request that those unable to vaccinate yet mask themselves when indoors or interacting within close range with others. If you have any questions about these requests, please contact us!

Question

Can I stay at the YMCA campground?

Answer

Yes. We have reserved a handful of cabins for our guests to in from Friday to Sunday. The cabins cost $160/night and sleep up to 12 people per cabin. Each cabin has its own bathroom with shower, and there are also bath houses by the cabins to accomodate multiple people getting ready at the same time. Please note that the cabins have bunkbeds and you will need to bring bedding. Be aware the cabins are not airconditioned. Check in on Friday starts at 5pm, and checkout on Sunday is no later than 11am. If you would like to stay in one of the cabins, please email aimeegoodman26@gmail.com and/or ngoodman0606@gmail.com and let us know who all will be staying in your cabin with you.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Yes! We planned this weekend to be very kid-friendly. There will be lots of fun activities for kids of all ages.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

For ceremony/brunch: Dressy/Smart Casual. Think sundresses/summery slacks and button ups. For the rest of the days activities and dinner: Casual attire. Anything goes, from sundresses and sandals to shorts, and tees, flip flops, sneakers, etc. It's summer camp and it will likely be hot! Dress accordingly! Please make note that most of the day's festivities are outdoors and will involve walking on lawns and sloped areas, so choose your footwear accordingly! Heels are not recommended. Be comfy. The bride will be wearing sneakers all day.

Question

What time should I arrive Saturday morning for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 10am and will likely be quite brief so we recommend being early. Should anyone need/want a ride, there will be shuttles to drive people from the main reception hall (Kellog Hall) down to the outdoor chapel, starting at 9:30am.

Question

What summer camp activities will be available on Saturday?

Answer

Swimming at the lake, splash pad, boating, canoing and kayaking, hiking, kangaroo pad, mineshaft slide, volleyball, basketball, archery (3-4pm), hammocks for those who just want to relax in the shade. In the event of bad weather, we will have access to the YMCA pool.

Question

Are we allowed to bring in outside alcohol?

Answer

No. Fullstop. Beer and wine will be served at brunch and dinner on Saturday, but Sherman Lake YMCA does not allow any other alcohol on their property, at any time during the weekend. This includes in the cabins for those who are staying on-site. Please respect their policies and don't get us in trouble with the delightful Sherman Lake staff. Just please don't.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes! Parking is available on site. Please note that parking is not directly by the cabins so if you are staying on-site, we will have to bring your things down to the cabins.

Question

Is there WiFi out there in the woods?

Answer

Technically, yes. The main hall does have WiFi. Please be aware that cell signal is not great around the campground. Use this as an opportunity to disconnect, enjoy nature and lovely company for a couple days.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We do have a Zola registry that you can find under the 'Registries' tab on this site. The truth is, we are both at a point in our lives where we don't really need a lot of things to start our life together as a married couple. As many of you probably know, we are beginning a new and exciting chapter together, as parents, welcoming our son, Gerald Eugene Goodman in October 2022. Due to this, and the fact that we are already fairly well established in our home, we have included our baby registry as an alternative to traditional wedding gifts.
