Spending time in the mountains is one of our favorite things to do together, so we wanted to share our love of the California mountains with all of you! Big Bear is where Abby and Nick skied together for the first time, and also where Abby forced Nick onto his first outdoor rock climbing route :)
Please see the "travel" tab on the website for more details about travel and lodging.
Gold Mountain Manor consists of a historic log mansion and an acre of beautiful gardens. Our wedding will take place entirely outdoors in the garden area; only members of the bridal party and residents staying at the lodge will be allowed indoors during the event.
There are very few Uber/Lyft drivers in Big Bear, so your best options for traveling to and from the venue are either driving, or calling a local taxi service. If you choose to drive, parking is available in the gravel lot behind Venue on Michael Avenue. Guests staying at the lodge should park their cars first, as compact as possible, in the gravel lot. Guests staying off-site will then park in the remaining spaces, double and triple parking where available. Once the lot is full, guests may park along Michael Ave and Anita Ave, not blocking resident’s driveways or parking on private property. If you choose a local taxi service, we recommend Jazzy Bear Ride Service: (909) 375-6799
If your children are attending, we ask that you please keep an eye on them and ensure that they remain in the garden, as the lodge is not child-friendly. We are also hoping for a peaceful and uninterrupted ceremony, and kindly request that this be kept in mind when considering your child's attendance.
Attire is semi-formal. Additionally, the event is entirely outdoors, and the ground at the manor is grass-covered, to keep in mind for footwear.
Big Bear in early June is beautiful, with highs in the mid-70's. The sun will set around 8pm, so the last two hours might get a bit chillier, possibly dipping into the mid or low 60's.
Why yes, they were! Nick designed and created each invitation — including the envelopes! — by hand, and he’s so humble that he didn’t want me to put this on here, but I’m doing it anyway, because I think they turned out gorgeous and he deserves the credit :)
