FAQs

Question

Traveling to Greece - What you Need

Answer

If you’re coming from the U.S., you just need a valid passport (make sure it’s not expiring within six months of your travel dates). No visa or special documents are required for short stays.

Question

What’s the best way to get to Paros?

Answer

You can fly from Athens (about 40 minutes) or take a ferry from either Piraeus or Rafina port. We recommend booking ferries through FerryHopper —it’s easy, reliable, and lets you compare times and routes. Ferries are big, comfortable, and surprisingly nice (yes, there’s a bar). If you’re flying from another EU country, you may find direct flights into Paros (PAS) depending on your departure city.

Question

When should I book travel?

Answer

Book both flights and ferries early, especially in summer—it’s peak season and things sell out quickly. We would recommend starting to look at flights as early as Nov/Dec and booking flights 4-6months in advance.

Question

How to get around the island

Answer

Renting through MotorLand Rentals is the easiest option. They deliver cars and 4-wheelers (ATVs) right to your hotel, the port, or airport. If you’re comfortable, we highly recommend renting a 4-wheeler—it’s fun, easy to park, and the best way to explore. Discount code: ANASWEDDING

Question

Paros 101: What to Expect

Answer

The island runs on its own (very chill) schedule. Mornings are for beach time or long lunches that roll into the afternoon. Between 3–6 PM, most shops close for siesta so plan accordingly! Our advice: Sleep in, start slow, and don’t over-schedule. Mornings and early afternoons are for beaches, evenings are for long dinners, and nights are for bar hopping, dancing and tequila shots!

Question

What are the main areas on the island?

Answer

Paros is small and super easy to explore, but here's a quick guide of main areas: -Naoussa: The heart of the island and where most of the action happens. It’s full of shops, waterfront restaurants, and fun bars that go late into the night. -Parikia: The main port town where ferries arrive and depart. It’s more local and charming, with winding alleys, small boutiques, and some great spots for sunset drinks. -Aliki: A quieter fishing village on the southern side, great for laid-back lunches by the water and beaches. -Kolymbithres & Monastiri Beach: Known for clear water —perfect for beach days and swimming. -Santa Maria: A fun beach area close to Naoussa, great for lounging, cocktails, and water sports. Most of the island is only a 15–30 minute drive apart, so it’s super easy to hop around—especially if you’re renting a car or 4-wheeler.

Question

Dinner

Answer

Dinner doesn’t usually start until 9 or 10 PM, mostly because everyone waits until it cools down and post-siesta. Meals are long, social, and meant to be enjoyed slowly—no one’s in a rush. After dinner, people usually wander to Naoussa for cocktails, music, and that fun, late-night out.

Question

The Basics

Answer

Greece uses the Euro (€). Most places take cards, but it’s smart to carry some cash for taxis or small beach cafés. Your phone should work fine with international roaming, or you can grab a local SIM at the airport for data. Almost everyone speaks English, and locals are lovely and helpful!

Question

Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place entirely outdoors at Agios Konstantinos tou Kastrou, a beautiful cliffside church overlooking the ocean. While it will likely be breezey throughout the ceremony, June in Paros can be warm and sunny. To help keep everyone comfortable, water and parasols will be available upon arrival

Question

Will the reception be outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Dinner and dancing will take place outdoors at the beautiful Yria Island Boutique Hotel & Spa.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie / Formal. Ladies, please note that both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors, with some stone pathways and uneven surfaces. You may find block heels & wedges most comfortable!

Question

Will Transportation Be Provided?

Answer

Yes! Transportation will be provided for wedding events. Additional details, pickup locations, and schedules will be shared closer to the wedding weekend.
