Torrey is not a big town but there are a few solid places to eat. We have not tried them all but the Yelp reviews are fairly accurate.

Capitol Reef National Park

Capitol Reef is the hidden jewel of Utah's "Big 5" National Parks. Stop by one of the ranger stations or look online for hikes.

Fruit Picking in Capitol Reef

Peaches, pears, and apples will all be in season in Capitol Reef. Bring your own bags and some cash for the self pay station and enjoy fruit off historic trees planted and irrigated by pioneers.

Highway 12

Incredibly scenic drive between Torrey and Escalante. A lot of places to stop and hike or just enjoy the beautiful landscape!

Lower Calf Creek Falls

Great 5.5 mile out and back hike that turns around at a gorgeous waterfall. Dog friendly but be ready for heat!

Hell's Backbone Grill

Delicious and famous Utah restaurant along the Hell's Backbone Section of Highway 12. Great food from people who are big advocates for public lands in Utah.

Hells Backbone Road

For the adventurous drivers out there! Hell's Backbone Road is a 38-mile gravel road that was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and connects the towns of Boulder, Utah and Escalante, Utah. Halfway along the road is Hell's Backbone Bridge, which is 109 feet long, and 14 feet wide. A 1,500-foot drop is on either side.
