Alyssa and Nick met on February 13, 2017 - Alyssa's first day as an employee of SpaceX. Nick, trying to be friendly and approachable to the newbie, recommended Alyssa listen to a band called AJR, a band she'd never heard of. While working on her training, she listened to their newest album of the time called "The Click" on repeat. She was immediately hooked on their sound, and the two quickly became friends. The years went by and the two developed a strong friendship, bonding over work, music, and a bunch of nerd shit - Harry Potter, Spider-Man, you name it. Alyssa learned that Nick wasn't as naïve as he lead on, and Nick quickly learned that jokingly telling someone to "calm down" usually isn't perceived well (luckily that was the only time they'd ever have to have that discussion!) Several heartbreaks later and something started to develop that had never been present before. They started to spend more time together outside of work, playing board games at Starbucks and analyzing meanings in song lyrics. Soon it became clear that this wasn't going to stay just a friendship, and the two began a relationship - Alyssa met Nick's family and children at one of the many family gatherings, and Nick met Alyssa's parents on an emergency medication delivery to her mom in Arizona. Together they bought a condo (and later a house), adopted a puppy, and began their lives with the kids as a family unit - all that was left to do was make it official. So on September 9th, 2024, Nick popped the question, and they quickly started planning their happily ever after.
