Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Taos Ski Valley has a few hotel and AirBnB Options. Please note that that Taos Ski Valley is a 40 minute drive from the town of Taos. We ask that you stay in the Taos Ski Valley Village for the wedding. Due to the remote location and low population there are also no rideshare uber/lyfts operating in the Taos area. We recommend The Blake Resort. A rooming link with a *NEW 25% off* room rate is provided for The Blake Resort. This is the main resort in Taos Ski Valley, named after Ernie Blake, the founder of Taos Ski Valley. The Blake at Taos Ski Valley is a place where the currents of History, Culture and Art merge. It is an 80-room alpine resort adjacent to Lift 1 designed to deliver mountainside views and adventures. Taos Ski Valley is a small mountain resort town. There are plenty of outdoor and adventurous activities around the resort area, but dining is limited. If you would like to experience more New Mexican Culture and Cuisine, Taos or Santa Fe are great options for Saturday through the weekend before heading back home.

Question

How high is the elevation in Taos Ski Valley?

Answer

Taos Ski Valley is 9,000 ft and the wedding venue is an additional 1,000 ft up the mountain at 10,000 ft. We recommend staying hydrated (chlorophyl drops for your water will be provided in your welcome bags), getting plenty of sleep and keeping this in mind with adult beverages :)

Question

How do we get there?

Answer

Please refer to the Travel Tab above!

Question

What's the difference between Taos and Taos Ski Valley?

Answer

Taos is one of the oldest communities in North America. It is a traditional pueblo town known for historic adobe buildings and inhabited by Native Americans for centuries. Taos is a walkable town with art galleries, local shops, New Mexican cuisine and museums. Taos Ski Valley is 40 minutes north of the city of Taos up a long winding road through towering pines. Taos Ski Valley founded by Ernie Blake, a WWII veteran who noticed the valley while riding in his cessna. It reminded him of the beauty in Germany and Switzerland - he then purchased and developed the Ski Valley. It is a smaller mountain adventure / ski resort town with outdoor actives.
