Question

The Aspen Tree: A Symbol of Our Journey

Answer

The Aspen tree—often called the “quaking” or “trembling” aspen—is known not only for its graceful beauty but also for its deep symbolic meaning. Traditionally, Aspens represent courage, communication, and renewal—qualities that resonate deeply with our journey together. What makes the Aspen truly special is how it grows. Beneath the surface, Aspens are connected by a shared root system, forming a vast, living network. This symbolizes unity, kinship, and the strength we gain from community and connection. Just like these trees, we believe our marriage will thrive through deep-rooted support, love, and the bond we share with one another and those around us. To us, the Aspen leaf beautifully represents the beginning of this new chapter—grounded, resilient, and full of life.

Question

Where do I fly into?

Answer

Denver International Airport is the closest airport.

Question

How do I get from the airport to Golden? What is transportation like in the town?

Answer

There are many options to get to Golden. You can Uber/Lyft, rent a car or take the West Line Rail (also known as the W Line) in order to get from the airport to the town. It will take you through the Union Station in Denver. Here is a link with more details about transportation options in Golden! https://www.visitgolden.com/plan-your-visit/getting-here-around/

Question

What town do I stay in?

Answer

Chris and I have chosen Golden Colorado as our wedding home base. We love the vibe of this former gold rush town situated at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Golden is a very walkable town with access to downtown, Red rocks ,waterways and hiking. We will be providing shuttles from hotels in Golden to the venue in nearby Idaho Springs. Other options include nearby cities such as: Denver, Colorado which offers a vibrant mix of urban charm, great dining, and stunning mountain views—making it a perfect place to stay and explore during our wedding celebration. Idaho Springs, Colorado, which is a historic mountain town nestled in the Rocky Mountains, known for its rich gold mining history, natural hot springs, and scenic beauty along Interstate 70.

Question

How will I get to and from the venue?

Answer

Shuttles will be picking up guests at both hotels at 2:30pm. There will also be shuttles back to the hotels after the reception concludes. 8:30 pm (early shuttle) and 10:00 pm (last call shuttle)

Question

Can I drive myself to the venue?

Answer

The venue is located on a mountain road with limited lighting and no overnight parking available. For your safety and convenience, we strongly encourage all guests to use the complimentary shuttles we will be providing.

Question

What is the elevation of the venue?

Answer

9,000 feet of elevation.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

October in Colorado is a beautiful time of year, especially in the mountains! You can expect crisp, cool air, golden fall colors, and even the possibility of early snowfall—hopefully not this early in October! Daytime temperatures typically range from the mid-60s- 80s, while evenings can dip into the 30s, so we recommend dressing in layers and bringing a warm jacket, especially for any outdoor festivities. The weather can be unpredictable, but that’s part of the charm—so come prepared and ready to enjoy the beauty of fall in the Rockies!

Question

Does alcohol hit different in the mountains?

Answer

Yes! At higher altitudes, the air is thinner and contains less oxygen, which can make you feel the effects of alcohol more quickly than at sea level. It doesn’t actually make the alcohol stronger, but your body processes it differently, and dehydration happens faster too. So sip slowly, drink plenty of water, and enjoy the celebration!

Question

I'm not staying at the hotel.. can I still take the shuttle?

Answer

Yes! You just need to make sure to get to one of the two locations: The Golden Hotel or the Denver Marriot West.
