We met for the very first time in August of 2016. Back then, we barely acknowledged each other's existence. Derek was a freshman and Nicholle was a sophomore, and per usual, we both hated the other one's high school class-for no actual legitimate reason I might add. For the next three years, we didn't associate with the other's friend groups, therefore, we didn't associate with each other. In those entire three years we were in the same vicinity, we only had ONE person in common (shoutout to Isabella). In May of 2019, Nicholle graduated and neither of us gave the other a second thought. Fast forward to mid-April of 2021. Nicholle is at friend's house, swiping through Bumble. Derek is at the gym, also swiping through Bumble. Nicholle sees Derek's profile, clicks on it and scrolls through. After some thought, Nicholle swiped right and the words "It's A Match" flash on the screen! For those of you who don't know, on Bumble, the female is supposed to initiate the conversation in order to make contact. So Nicholle clicked on the chat box and began the conversation with a "Fancy seeing you here". Not even fifteen minutes later, Nicholle receives a notification from Bumble that says "Derek sent you a new message" and when Nicholle opens it, the message says "Small world huh". From then on, Snapchat usernames and phone numbers were exchanged. We started talking all day, everyday. Finally, Derek musters up the courage to ask Nicholle on a first date. Wednesday, April 28, 2021, Derek took Nicholle to Dollywood, the The Island, and then finished the evening off at Cracker Barrel. In the next year, we went on dates like star gazing and Smokies baseball games, to trips all the way to New York City. We spent our first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and birthdays together. On our one year anniversary, Derek took Nicholle to the park that he was at when he first new for sure that he loved Nicholle. At the park, Derek proposed and through the tears, Nicholle said an excited YES! Now, eight months after the proposal, we are getting married in December!
