Pike Place Market Part I

Pike Place Market Part I

Seattle, WA

Pike Place Market is beloved by tourists and locals alike. There's plenty of food options, art stalls, fish flying through the air, and a great view of the ferries. THE TOURISTY STUFF Fish Throwing: What started as a prank among the fishmongers has now become a tradition. The Gum Wall: It's actually a whole alley covered in gum that's so gross you have to see it.

Pike Place Market Part II

Seattle, WA

THE FOOD Fear not - all of these recommendations offer small portions so you can try a little bit of everything. Drinks: Walk by the original Starbucks to say you saw it but skip the line and head to Storyville Coffee instead for a coffee-snob approved drink. For non-coffee drinkers, head to Rachel's Ginger Beer for inventive flavor options. Savory bites: Pike Place Chowder always has multiple chowder options on rotation. While you wait in line for Beecher's Handmade Cheese Shop's mac and cheese, you can watch as they swirl giant vats of cheese. Le Panier is a sentimental favorite for Victoria to get sandwiches, macarons, and any other French pastries your heart desires. Sweet bites: Ellenos Yogurt is straight up the best Greek yogurt outside of Greece. The Confectional is the go-to spot for fun cheesecake flavors. To bring home: Chunkar's Cherries and smoked salmon are great options to bring back as gifts (or for yourself).
