We decided on forever!

We first noticed on another at the wedding of Stephen Zeckser (Nick's best man) and Camrey (Shayla's cousin) and although we did not exchange words, we both found ourselves looking at the other which neither of us knew until months later. A few months after the wedding, Shayla was randomly searching the Zeckser wedding hashtag on Instagram to see who had used it. She spotted a selfie Nick had taken and decided to follow him. He followed her back and added her on Facebook shortly after. They both would see each other's posts and realized they shared some things in common (love of the outdoors, positive mindsets, drive, attention to detail, self care, passion). After awhile, Nick decided to strike up a conversation with Shayla and they built a friendship where they learned about one another and what each valued. Shayla had never met someone like Nick before, someone that knew his worth and could handle any obstacle that had been thrown his way. Someone that understood the way her mind worked and appreciated it. Nick had been praying for a girl like Shayla, someone who he could open up to and share his passions with. Someone who could be his best friend and biggest supporter. Both quickly realized they would like this to be more than a friendship as there was an undeniable attraction. Eventually, they decided "why the heck not?". They decided to try dating one another, despite living 5 hours away. They learned to trust one another and to value their time together. Shayla made the decision to introduce her daughters to Nick after a couple of months and she knew they would love him (she was right), Nick instantly made an impression on the girls and they have continued to build an amazing relationship. September 2, 2019, Nick took Shayla to his favorite hunting ground, his sacred place and proposed. They've been building a strong foundation for a happy, successful marriage and have been enjoying growing as a couple, as individuals and as a family.
