A long-time favorite spot of ours, Mill Creek Park was established in 1891 by Volney Rogers as the first park district in Ohio. Recreation opportunities include hiking, biking, boating, fishing, golf, tennis, volleyball, picnicking, walking trails and much more. The northern section of the park includes Lanterman’s Falls and the Mill Creek Gorge. This area offers breathtaking views with its cascading waters, steep hillsides beautifully covered with deciduous and evergreen trees, bold sandstone outcroppings, and numerous grass-covered meadows🍃
Fellows Riverside Gardens is a free public garden located at the northern end of Mill Creek Park. This twelve-acre display garden features a landscape of remarkable beauty with diverse and colorful plant displays, roses of all classes, seasonal displays of annuals, perennials, flowering bulbs, and scenic vistas. Fellows Riverside Gardens is one of Ohio’s finest public gardens and attracts over 400,000 visitors a year. For the residents of Mahoning County, the MetroParks and Fellows Riverside Gardens are their pride and joy🌷

Alice used fresh, backyard fruit to create high-quality, small-batch ice cream that quickly became a local staple, with the company eventually operating over 150 locations nationwide.
