We met on Bumble, an online dating app in the winter of 2019. We talked for weeks, sharing bits and pieces of our lives, our favorite memories, hopes for future and things that made us laugh. We connected on our similarities of favorite shows, hobbies, travel destinations and more. Our first date was bowling in downtown Jersey City, followed by a freezing cold (but fun!) walk around the harbor after drinking bubble tea. We talked for hours, and though cliche, it was as if we'd known each other for years. After our first date, we continued talking, and grew more connected as the days went on. The pandemic soon arrived and the changing atmosphere of the world left us with uncertainty and fear. Lockdowns, quarantines and social distancing did bring us with challenges, though we became experts at finding other ways to stay connected and strengthen our bond. Of course, the word felt heavy, but we found comfort and light in each other. It made us appreciate each other even more. Through the course of our relationship, we were blessed to navigate the bright spots and low moments in our lives. We shared first vacations together, first family gatherings, first moments of personal growth, and we also supported each other through some of the hardest times. Those struggles only affirmed what we knew was true, that we could face anything that would come our way. We got engaged in the summer of 2023, after four years of dating. We are excited to share the love that we built together, and celebrate the support, well wishes and warmth that all of our loved ones have provided us with over the years!
