We met through Bumble (a popular dating app) in March 2021 after catching each other's eye and mutually swiping right, leading to what would later become the ultimate match. At the time, Lauren was home on spring break and in her final semester at USF, and Nick was living in Destin finishing his third year of medical school at VCOM. Lauren had just accepted an offer to attend VCOM, and was surprised to find out that Nick was also a student there. Our first date was at a local coffee shop, which turned into a 4-hour long conversation getting to know each other. From that day on, we talked often and spent a lot of time together. In fact, Nick brought Lauren home to meet his parents just two months later—and it was a blast! Lauren quickly became a Canes fan and we bonded over things like our shared love for the beach and our sweet pets, Cooper and Toffee. In July, Lauren moved to Auburn. The distance was an adjustment, but we visited each other on the weekends and FaceTimed nearly every day. We supported each other and fell deeper in love as time passed, and began to picture what our lives would look like together as one. With each accomplishment, we cheered each other on both near and far. In May 2022, Nick graduated medical school and moved to Washington D.C. to train as a resident doctor in radiology. As the miles between us grew, so did the strength of our love. After countless flights, sweet embraces, hard goodbyes, and years of loving each other, we got engaged in February 2024 when Nick proposed to Lauren in Washington D.C. Our hearts are filled with gratitude in this time as we rejoice in the strength that the Lord has given us to bring us to this day. In reflecting on our story, we recognize the place that each and every one of you had in shaping us into the people who are undoubtedly a perfect match for each other. We extend our most heartfelt love and appreciation as we joyously await our wedding day.
