Why are you getting married in Martin, Slovakia?

Answer

We chose to get married in Martin, Slovakia because this place holds a special place in our hearts. As a child, Kimberly traveled to Slovakia to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was during those visits that she truly experienced how the local people helped her deepen her faith. Bohdan, a dear family friend and a "brother" to Kimberly, is the President of the Center for Christian Education in Martin. Nick’s first time meeting him began in 2021 through a memorable day when Nick spilled a beer on him, and the trip ended with a failed fishing afternoon on Roberts Bay. For Kimberly & Nick, this is an opportunity to share the beauty of this special place with friends who may not yet know the stories of how families from around the world have come together to create a space where others can grow in faith and come to know Jesus.

Nick and Kimberly’s story began in the most everyday of places — working across the hall from each other. Their paths often crossed in the breezeway, where casual encounters gradually turned into warm conversations. Over time, their friendship deepened, and through God's perfect timing, what started as simple familiarity blossomed into something much greater. Years of friendship, trust, and shared faith laid the foundation for a beautiful love story. Together, they built not only a business but a life rooted in partnership, love, and purpose. Now, after all they’ve shared and accomplished, they feel the time has come to take the next step — to make their commitment official and celebrate the incredible journey that brought them to this moment.
