Nick and Keana met at FringeArts in the summer of 2025, right here in Philly. June 7th to be exact. Nick had attended the party reluctantly while Keana was excited because the party was known to be a good time. Nick tells it: Keana was in the party scowling, and he kept coming by her and her friends trying to see if they could make contact. Keana says: She had indulged in some drinks and was merely scoping the scenery. A few drinks later, Nick approached with a drum and Keana spoke up for her friend Kyla who wanted to also use the drum. Nick thought to himself, here’s my chance. Keana and Nick ultimately spoke outside of the party when Nick approached her. During discussion Nicks culture came up and Keana requested to know her name in Ghana. “Afia”. Keana requested Nick text her so she wouldn’t forget. Sounds pretty boy meets girl- until Nick ghosts Keana after her busy work schedule and a failed party meet up attempt. July 19th the pair would give it another go. The Winston.
