How we met

November 2015

Kaylei and Nick met in November 2015,thanks to modern technology. Kaylei and Nick spent the beginning of their relationship talking through text. As the interest grew, they decided it was finally time to meet. The first date was in Waco at Kaylei's favorite restaurant, Ninfas. The chemistry it was instant. The nerves washed away and felt they had known one another for years. This was one of many, long and important date nights that they would spend together. All while the chemistry grew to love. They made it official on January 4th, 2016 which leads us to this beautiful love adventure.

The Proposal

October 14th, 2017

From Kaylei’s POV: It was around my brothers birthday and the family had decided to come to Belton to eat at Dead Fish Grill. Mind you, all of my family are at least 40 minutes to an hour away from us so i thought it was weird they were deciding to come to us for my brothers birthday dinner. Yet alone to a restuarant they had never been to? I was so confused. Nick wanted me to go get my nails and toes done with my mom while him and my dad were “running errands”. We got back to our house after the nail salon and started getting ready...well anyone who knows me knows it takes me a WHILE to get ready and im always late...whoops.Well we get there and go out to the patio where they were all waiting so im hugging my dad and turn around and there is my sweet sweet Nicholas on one knee and I instantly start grinning from ear to ear, whole body shaking because im so nervous/excited/shocked etc. I was feeling so many emotions seeing the man of my dreams on one knee with a gorgeous ring. Even better my family and closest friends were there which is everything I could have ever asked for. The fact he went out of his way to plan this and included everyone made me so happy.

The proposal continued

From Nicks POV: I had known Kaylei was the woman I wanted to marry for a while at this point. I spent months searching for a ring as gorgeous as she is, then I found it. Once I had it in my hands I realized that I hadn't even thought of how I might propose. At the time, Dead Fish was one of our favorite restaurants and they have a beautiful view overlooking Lake Belton. I knew it would be a great place to pop the question, good food, view of the lake and big enough for all of us to fit and a spot to hide the party! It happened to be around Sean's (her brother) birthday and I used that as the cover up as to why her whole family was coming down to belton. The day was all planned, decorations were up, people were there ready to celebrate our new chapter with us. Now I'm generally not a nervous person and I knew she was gonna say yes, but I was so nervous as she was walking to me not knowing our lives were going to change forever. As she got to our table and started to greet everyone I waited till she turned around and got down on one knee. I shakily asked those 4 little words and she instantly said yes.
