In Nick’s sophomore year of high school, he remembers walking through the halls and noticing a pretty freshman he never saw before. This freshman that caught Nick's eye was Kathryn. One night, Nick and Kathryn ended up going to an event at the same spot through mutual friends, but Kathryn almost didn’t make it in. Kathryn forgot her wallet! Luckily, Nick overheard her predicament and swooped in for a chance to impress the pretty new girl. He gave Kathryn the money she needed, and at the same time got a chance to introduce himself. The rest of the night they were inseparable, and by the end of the night, it felt like they had known each other for 10 years, not just a few short hours. Obviously, this was something special, and they both knew it. They continued to talk every day for hours on facetime and in the halls, and on October 31st, 2013, Nick asked Kathryn to be his girlfriend between giving candy to trick-or-treaters. It is hard to put in words the relationship they have built over the years together, but surely it is something unique, ever-growing, compassionate, and down to earth. When it came time to go off to college, Nick was first. Nick went to Penn State in 2016 and Kathryn went to Temple in 2017. They knew this would be a challenge, but believed if they made it through this, there was nothing else stopping them. The years were some of the best ones in their lives. They spent time at each college meeting wonderful lifelong friends, going to football games, concerts, parks, and much more. The way Kathryn & Nick saw it was that life, and memories, were just so much sweeter with the other one by your side. Kathryn and Nick’s next stop is Washington D.C. where Kathryn will get her first job as an R.N., and Nick will be continuing his schooling at Georgetown School of Medicine. Beyond that, who knows where life will take them? Either way, they will have each other, and they are ready for their next chapter.
