Many people do not know this, but Nick and I first met on accident at Walcott Day before I transferred high schools. Of course, this meeting consisted of a bully (me) making fun of a boy (Nick) for asking for a rootbeer with a dollar that looked like he took a big bite out of it; when in fact, I was just selling tokens for the pop. After telling him I could not give him a soda, that I only had tokens, this boy then ran to his dad blushing, before his dad returned to buy the token. Two months later...I walked into a new high school and long and behold, the same blushing boy was in my homeroom. Long story short, this same boy (now a man) decided he wants me to make fun of him the rest of his life. So here's to many years of red, smiling faces, and never-ending bullying. <3
I had a crush on Nick for a LONG TIME before he acknowledged my existence when I got bronchitis and missed school for over a week. He texted me, asked where I was, and kept bothering me every day until I returned to school. My dad then asked if I knew anyone who sold fruit for school fundraising. Of course Nick did and for the next several months he was known as "Orange Boy" in my household. Finally, "Orange Boy" and I began talking regularly when he eventually asked me if he could walk me to school one day (Sophomores had to park a quarter mile from school). I agreed and after beginning our walk he said "Wait, come here quick..." He then took me back to his car, pulled out a pink rose, told me happy birthday, and asked me to be his girlfriend. Easily the best birthday present I've ever received <3
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 24, 2018 I was tired of being bored and asked Nick if he wanted to play a quick game of Sequence. Nick agreed (with a strange look on his face) and we took the game into my parents living room where he dumped the game on the floor in front of me. I then asked him to go and see if my sister (Kacie) and her fiance (Cody) would like to play. Again, he gave me a strange look...I then looked down in front of me where a ring box was now sitting and I managed to stammer, "What's with the ring box....?" before he got too far away. He then returned, sat down next to me, and asked, "Will you beat me in Sequence forever?" After being very confused (as I already knew he was never going to win) I managed again to stammer out a quick "Yes?" after trying to decide if he was really asking what I thought he was. Again...the answer was Yes he was! So long story short, after 1 nerve-wrecking question, 1 confused answer, and 3 rounds of Sequence, we won! In more ways than one <3
