Our Beginning

Nicholas and Julianne met like most couples during the COVID-19 pandemic—the internet. They spoke for a few months via FaceTime before meeting up in person. Prior to their first date, Julianne admired Nicholas’s personality, sense of humor, and ability to have interesting conversations for hours. Nicholas realized they had similar values and interests and that Julianne was motivated but down to earth. For their first date, Nicholas planned for them to go to a driving range and try a par 3 course in Lexington, MA. After the course, Nicholas took Julianne to his favorite New Haven pizzeria, which had opened a branch in Massachusetts. Although this was Julianne’s first and last attempt at golfing, the two hit it off and decided to go out again. The next date was even more fun! The two went Kayaking on the Charles River in Massachusetts, and although Nicholas had to do most of the paddling, the hours together were filled with great conversation. Julianne and Nicholas learned how similar their upbringings and values were. The day was complete with some delicious barbecue overlooking the Boston skyline. Julianne was eventually able to drag Nick to paint pottery and saw how open minded Nicholas was and willing to try new things that Julianne enjoyed. After many more activity-filled dates and trips, it was time for the true test—the meeting of the dogs. Nicholas had two fluffy family dogs, Sammy and Darla, who were more like family members than pets. Julianne had Misty, a shy rescue with skepticism. The dogs hit it off, running as a little posse of friends.
