Nick and Jelsy had known of each other throughout their college years. They ran in the same social circles but never truly interacted with each other. One night, their dear friends Lauren and Daniel Weed were having some friends over. The night had dwindled down to Nick and Jelsy being the only guests left. Jelsy sparked a conversation with Nick and she found out that he was working at a Tennis Club. Tennis is Jelsy's favorite sport, and she had played it throughout the years. She asked Nick if he could bring guests over to the Tennis Club to play a couple of matches for free. Nick said yes and offered to bring her along. That night they exchanged numbers and this is where it all started. The first night they played tennis, Nick sucked and Jelsy wiped the floor and dominated, winning every game. Since they had so much fun, they decided to do it again. Their second tennis match looked very different from the first. They played for about 20 min, and decided to just go to El Roconsito where Nick and Jelsy talked until midnight. They were both surprised that they had talked for hours, and had much in common. At this point, both knew that the other was quite interesting. The weekly tennis games turned into bubble tea runs and late-night dinners. One night after a round of tennis and some bubble tea Nick got the courage to tell Jelsy that he liked her. There was a huge moment of silence and Nick finally said, "So i think we get along really well...I am starting to get feelings for you. What do you want to do with that?" Jelsy replied, "The Feeling is mutual, Nick".
Nick: I reached out to Bethany, Jelsy's best friend, for her help in picking out the right color for the engagement ring. As soon as the ring was on its way I started "Operation Engagement"! The week prior to the proposal I told Jelsy I needed some "introvert time", but in reality, I drove down to Fife to visit her family. I talked with her parents about my intent on marrying her. The plan was to propose at Jelsy and I's spot. While Bethany was distracting her, I was setting everything up for the proposal. The communication was perfect, and everything was falling into place. I was definitely freaking out the entire time. Finally, Jelsy and Bethany arrived, and everyone ran to their positions. Jelsy walked over to me looking utterly confused. I said a small speech to her, I dropped on one knee, asked her to marry me. She said yes!!! And all the anxiety disappeared. Luckily, the ring fit her just right! Jelsy: Nick and I had openly communicated about wanting to marry one another so I knew that a proposal was going to happen. I just didn't know when. When he told me that he was going to have "introvert time", I didn't think anything of it. And when my best friend, Bethany, said she wanted to visit me, I was thrilled! She made sure that I got out of bed and looked presentable for Engagement Day. Nothing felt out of the ordinary, but I did get a very small inkling the morning of the proposal. I didn't want to assume that it was going to happen because all the events prior felt very normal. After galavanting through Bellevue my best friend said she had one more place for us to go take photos at. She started driving towards Nick and I's spot. I even suggested that we go take photos there because it had gorgeous views. LOL, we ended up pulling up to the spot, and I saw Nicholas waving at me. I then spotted my parents, our close friends, and the world started spinning. Nick said a lovely speech, dropped on one knee, and of course I said yes!!!
