We first crossed paths freshman year at Roger Williams University, through mutual friends. Thereafter, we would exchange quick hellos in passing, whether in the dining hall or walking to class. Then, one night at a party, a few weeks before the semester ended, is when we hit things off and really started talking. We continued to hang out for the rest of the semester, and by the time summer break arrived, it was clear that we both liked each other. However, there was some uncertainty on Nick's end, he was considering transferring to a school in California, which made it hard for us to define where things were going. A few weeks later, after Nick toured the school in California and came back home, we had a conversation that changed everything. He told me he had decided not to transfer, and that one of the main reasons was the potential he saw in us. Relieved and excited, we officially began dating in June 2018. Over the next few years, our relationship deepened. We spent countless hours by the water at school, took trips to Newport, traveled to new places, and created a lifetime’s worth of memories. After graduation, we took the next step and moved in together, growing even closer as we built a life together. Fast forward to June 2023, we celebrated our five-year anniversary. To mark the occasion, we took a weekend trip to Newport, Rhode Island. After checking into our hotel, Nick drove us to Colt State Park, a special place we used to visit often while at school. It was there, at the spot that had become so meaningful to us, that Nick proposed. It was the start of our forever, and we couldn’t be more excited.
