What do you get when a Special Education teacher and a fireman, who have nothing in common prior to knowing each other, meet for the first time? An awkward handshake...Yes you read that right! Those who know Nick may think nothing of this, but that was the last thing I expected. Never would we have thought that a simple handshake would have been the catalyst for success. Two people, who thought they were total opposites, found something they were not expecting: true love. 3+ years later, 1 apartment, countless "you wouldn't believe me if I told you's", insufficient photos of one another, all the "little things" that make us, us; and here we are today. Writing something like this is not as easy as you would think. When we look back on our journey, how do you summarize what feels like a lifetime of being with your person? You add all these stories, experiences and awkward moments (for us at least) together, and you get our story. A story that will never truly account what we feel for one another. Some things, you just cannot explain; its one of those "when you know, you know" feelings. And this, is what makes our story one of success. We cannot wait to celebrate our day with those who have gotten the opportunity to see this story first hand. Quite frankly, some of you are part of the reason we are here today (thank you Julie & Lisa). We may not have ever told you this, but you two motivated us to look past our perceived dissimilarities. Despite our initial thoughts, we took the chance, and found out just how wrong we were. -Britt & Nick
