The wedding is in the Vouliagmeni area of Athens along the coast. We have a few hotel suggestions int the travel section. There are all so so many Airbnb's in the area. The local hosts are amazing at making you feel at home and are very responsive about any questions. We highly suggest staying in the Vouliagmeni/ Glyfada area for the wedding. If you'd like to spend a couple days before or after the wedding seeing the historical sites I would stay in the Monastiraki area, as there is more access to public transit and it is walkable to areas like the Parthenon and the ancient Agora.
The dress code is garden party formal. What does that mean? Its formal but the event is outside and its on the hotter side. Think tea length to floor length dresses in lighter fabrics. Men can wear suits with light dress shirts.
We are getting married in the Greek Orthodox church and the ceremony lasts around 1 (ishhhh) hour. It will also be in Greek so we will be providing translation booklets for everyone to follow along.
The deadline to RSVP is April 2nd.
Your presence is a gift in itself and we appreciate everyone coming to join us in celebrating our love. If you'd like to spread even more joy we have a small registry to help our goal of fixing up our home.
The ceremony procession starts right at 6:30pm.
There will be a shuttle from the church to the venue. The ride is aprox. 5 minutes. There is also parking at the venue for those that choose to rent a car
Please let Abi or Niko know if there is any allergies in your RSVP so they can coordinate with the venue.
Restaurants and shops take credit card everywhere! The only place we've needed cash was going on taxis around the smaller islands. It is easy to get euros from ATMs all over the city. Double check with your bank and make sure your cards don't have foreign transaction fees!
The public transport system is extensive and easy to use but you can also use the uber app. Taxis also go through the Uber app. Don’t get scammed by hailing one off the street.
