The dating scene is generally a rough place, but it was extra rough during the pandemic. Luckily, there's an app for that and like many a modern couple, we met on Bumble. After a successful introductory video date (now referred to as Date Zero), we set an in-person date to go hiking at the Greenbelt. Victoria's side of the story . . . At this point, I had had several failed first dates and was about ready to give up. A few days before I met Nick in person, I told Hannah B. "If this one doesn't work out, I'm done." We will skip past the part where I stayed out way too late the night before, got almost no sleep, and looked like heck, & skip straight to the part where I misread the directions and ended up at the wrong part of the Greenbelt. Of course, Nick was kind and patient and moved his car to meet me where I was. We said hello and hugged and headed onto the trail where we walked and talked for hours. It was the longest I had ever hiked and some of the best conversation I had ever had. After that, we just kept going on dates and getting closer until one day, after picking me up from the airport for the 3rd time, he officially asked me out and we've been together ever since. I'm so thankful for that gut feeling that told me to try one more first date.
