Things (YOU NEED) To Do

Here are some of our favorite places in the area and there is a wide range of activities for all personality types!
Torrey Pines Nature Preserve

Torrey Pines Nature Preserve

12600 N Torrey Pines Rd, San Diego, CA 92037

This is an incredible nature preserve that is home to the Torrey Pine tree which only grows in this one area. There are many trails for all levels and the views are breath-taking! The small entry-fee is worth it!

San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 231-1515

This Zoo was rated one of the best zoos in the US! Make this a full-day activity, if you can, so that you can make sure you get to see all the animals up close and in their open-air habitats. The variety of animals is amazing, and they have complimentary bus tours around the whole zoo plus complimentary gondola rides where you can see the whole zoo and downtown San Diego from above!

Oceanside Harbor and Beach

Oceanside Harbor and Beach

Harbor Dr S, Oceanside, CA 92054

The beach is boxed in by two rock jetties at both ends with the Oceanside Pier in the distance to the south and the marina is right behind the beach. If you go here look for the South jetty (on the left if you are facing the beach), that is where Nick proposed! Also, this beach has several parking possibilities. There are paid and free two-hour parking spots closer to the beach but if you want to make a day of it here is the address for the free parking lot that is just a short walk from the beach: 101-499 Riverside Dr, Oceanside, CA 92054.

Old Town San Diego

Old Town San Diego

4002 Wallace St, San Diego, CA 92110

Historic site in downtown San Diego that recreates life in the Mexican and early American periods of 1821 to 1872. A fun way to spend an afternoon and to check out some specialty and great souvenir shops!

Balboa Park

Balboa Park

1549 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 239-0512

This park has beautiful botanical gardens, architecture, and museums. The entry fee is free and there are a lot of exhibits which are free. Free parking can also be found around the outside gate of the park. Make sure to check out the massive bridge, that towers over the 163 highway, which you can walk over!

For all the days along the way
