In Nicholas's family, the day after Christmas is known as Jammie Day. On this day, his family comes over to play games and relax after the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Knowing that the family would be gathered Jesse knew the perfect plan to pop the big question. After returning from their vacation Jesse entrusted an ornament to Nicholas's sister, Julia, and asked her to plant it on the tree. That evening Jesse was "examining" the tree and asking about all of the different ornaments. He came to the one hidden by Julia and asked "what's this white one?" Nicholas assumed it was a snowman ornament made years ago, but Jesse persisted that it was not. So Nicholas walked over to the tree and saw the ornament asking "Will you marry me?" turned around to see Jesse on one knee and the rest is history!
