As many of you know Nick and Elissa met working at Starbucks. She was a supervisor and he was a barista. They started out as friends, but eventually realized they had feelings for each other and it became obvious to all that they were each other's perfect match. "Barley even friends then somebody bends, unexpectedly." After a couple of months of dating, Elissa had an opportunity of a lifetime when she was offered a job in Orlando, Florida to work at Disney's Magic Kingdom! Nick and Elissa knew it would be difficult to be apart but also knew their love was strong enough to get them through this. During her time in Florida, Nick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. She returned to New York a month before his departure to boot-camp. It was extremely difficult to be apart especially with their only form of communication being through letters - snail mail! They couldn't wait for the mail to arrive. After three long months, it was time for Nick's graduation. Elissa was extremely proud of his accomplishment and could not wait to see him and celebrate his success. He was on cloud 9 knowing she was waiting for him at the finish line. When they saw each other for the first time after 3 months, it was definitely one of the happiest times of their lives. Bootcamp was only the beginning. Nick then had to travel to North Carolina for training and then left to Oklahoma. Elissa never missed a beat and found ways to visit him anytime she could. Nick too, would find his way to NY to visit Elissa anytime he was offered what's known as 96ers (96 hours of leave). They made every effort to see each other as often as possible - including having movie nights on Facetime. In July 2022, they celebrated the 4th of July weekend in Nashville, TN with Elissa’s family, Elvis, Maria and Melanie. That night, Nick gallantly asked Elissa's parents for her hand in marriage… and of course, after a little interrogation, which if you know Elvis and Maria is not surprising, they gladly gave their blessing <3. When Nick returned to North Carolina, they planned a photoshoot for July 23, 2022 (Elissa's favorite thing to do!). She thought this photoshoot was to commemorate Nick's time in the Marines and capture him dressed in his blues (very, very handsome). However, it was really a decoy - his sole purpose was to capture the moment he was to go down on one knee and ask her to marry him. Elissa was completely caught off guard and pleasantly surprised and emotionally overjoyed! Of course she said YES!!! Soon thereafter, they facetimed all their friends and family to share the exciting news… And today here we are... let the wedding plans begin!!
