WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!

The story of how a desert dweller from Arizona ended up with a city slicker from Chicago, started at a place you might expect, a bar. As Nick was closing out his tab, he stirred up conversation with Joelle and there was an immediate connection. After exchanging numbers that night, they went out on their first date at Sapori Trattoria the following week and have been inseparable ever since. Fast forward 3 years and many dates later, they traveled together abroad, withstood a global pandemic, and bought a home in the same neighborhood Nick was born and raised in. By happenstance, the same weekend they put the down payment on their new home, Nick was planning on proposing to Joelle. As Nick would have it, the proposal involved tricking Joelle into going on a fishing trip with him. While riding their bikes down the Lakefront, fishing poles in tow, Nick made a sudden pitstop at the Adler Planetarium to make a few casts but instead, dropped down to one knee and popped the question. Needless to say, Joelle said “Yes!” and the surprise got even sweeter when the Panza and Pufpaf families hopped out of the bushes ready to toast to the future Mr. and Mrs. Pufpaf!
