Nic and Cass originally met sometime in middle school. They had English class together. They were friends in high school but neither of them really understand it because they remember hanging out but neither one of them would say they were "close". Cass definitely had a crush on Nic around the 8th grade/freshman year time. In college, they would randomly reconnect due to mutual friends inviting them to the same places and they also played in some of the same fantasy leagues, but they didn't talk much on their own until closer to the end of senior year. They got closer when they both realized that they had a passion for working in sports so it was good to be connected in the industry. Nic eventually got his first job in sports in Tennessee and made the move at the end of 2019. Cass stayed in Los Angeles for her first job. They talked occasionally but the pivotal moment was a conversation they had during COVID when they were both furloughed and Nic called Cass to ask if he should move back home. She told him he should! Nic moved back in 2020 but they really did not start hanging out until the end of 2021/beginning of 2022. Shoutout to their friend Andrew for staying in touch with Nic and inviting him to all of their activities! Shortly into 2022, Cass started to realize that she liked Nic. This sent her into a full blown spiral! She did not want to like him because she really enjoyed hanging out with him as a friend. She tried to make herself unlike him, but his good looks and charm were too strong to resist. On 12/31/2022, Cass decided to tell Nic how she felt about him. She told him she didn't want to date him but she just had to put her feelings out there. Nic rejected her... It was important for Cass that they maintain their friendship so they continued hanging out like normal. It only took until February 2023 for Nic to realize his mistake and he secretly started crushing on Cass. She had no idea because when Nic said no, it was no to her and that was it. They planned a trip to New York together (AS FRIENDS) in March of 2023. Cass loves New York so much! She knew it was probably risky to be going with Nic but she figured she would just spend a lot of time exploring on her own while Nic did his own thing. The trip had barely started and she noticed Nic was being suspiciously nice to her. He was hugging her and resting his head on her...things they had never done before as friends. She called her sister to let her know that she was definitely going to spiral again when she got back home😂 A few days into the trip, Nic and Cass were just hanging out when, out of nowhere, Nic went in for a kiss! Cass had no idea what was happening so she straight armed him and knocked his forehead away! Cass asked him what the heck he was doing and Nic said he was going in for a kiss. Cass asked why! And it was only then that Nic decided to share he realized he did have feelings for her but he wasn't ready at the time she had originally told him about her feelings. After that, they had their first kiss and the rest is history! From Cass: Put yourself out there, take the risk, and get that ring ladies!!!
