"Hey stranger! How is 2017 treating you so far?" ... That was it. That was my opening line to this fun, beautiful girl that I met briefly a year prior. It must have been my cleverness that peaked her interest because she responded and we planned our first date. The first date went really well and there was interest from both of us to hang out again. It was short notice when I asked her to join me on a training flight a week or so later. She let me know on date one that she was not a fan of flying. I gave her an easy out and told her we could do something else when I got back if she would like. I didn’t even finish my sentence when she interrupted and said “I’ll do it.” The fun, adventurous attitude was the first clue that this would blossom into the amazing relationship that it has. Come to find out Whitney is great at hiding fear and nausea. She let me know she was "this close" to throwing up in the plane and that would be the end of us. We work hard so we can visit new places and create many memories. We are so glad you will be joining us on our next big adventure!
We had just arrived to Fort Myers Beach, Florida for family vacation. It was our first full day and we decided to hit Sanibel Island to enjoy the beach and find some good shells! As soon as we got there we could not wait to get in the ocean. Well, everyone except for Nic! All he wanted to do was go for a walk and explore the island. All I wanted to do was get in the water, play with the kids and take pictures. After some hesitation, and a beer or two, I finally got him in the water. Then I eventually agreed to go on a walk with Nic and I told my mom and my sister, "We'll be back. Nic is busting to go on a walk." We held hands and walked along the beach. This was not out of the ordinary for us since we enjoy going on walks together, especially when we travel. We started talking about how happy we are together, how much we are looking forward to eventually starting our own family and more family vacations at the beach! We soon reached a more secluded part of the island. Nic asked me how much I loved him and he got down on one knee and asked if I loved him enough to marry him. I, of course, squealed with excitement and said YES! Nic was so relieved that he didn't have to worry anymore about carrying the ring around in the pocket of his swim trunks! I CANNOT WAIT to marry Nic and spend forever together!!!
