We met and became friends several years ago through our friends Xio and Diego. Victoria had grown up with her friend Xio (considered family) in Tremont, IL. I became friends with Diego while working together at Old Navy. When we first met, Victoria had moved to Boise, ID to continue her schooling at Boise State. At the same time, I was living in Salt Lake City, UT, but was back in Boise visiting. We hit it off pretty well that first time meeting and made a connection. I asked for her number and offered to take her out as she was going to be visiting Salt Lake the next week for school. I made a tragic mistake as I never texted or called her about the visit, which I still hear about to this day and likely will forever. Eventually I moved back to Boise and hung out with Victoria as part of the friend group. We grew close and started to like one another. One night I attempted to kiss Victoria, she leaned in but then she shut me down upon realizing someone was about to walk by. (I will be lucky to get a PDA kiss at the ceremony). Neither of us brought it up again as Victoria had other suitors very soon. I waited and waited and dated and waited and waited and dated some more. My mom (Melanie) met Victoria once, and after that first-time meeting, she commented to me that I should date her. This made me feel even more silly than I already felt. Eventually Victoria became single, and my eyes about popped out of my head with mixed emotions of excitement and "I'm sorry". I didn't wait too long before asking Victoria when she would be ready to date again. Victoria said she wasn't ready but would like to hang out more often as friends. I took that as the line from dumb and dumber "So you're telling me there's a chance?". It didn't take long before we both fell in love and knew that we wanted to be with one another. So here we are getting married, and we are so looking forward to having all of you celebrate with us!
