We met in June of 2016 at It's A Kling Thing, a punk house in Akron, Ohio. Nic was playing his very first show and Courtney introduced herself after. Courtney kept coming to more of Nic's shows and in August of 2016 we went on on our first date. We went out for dinner, then we went to B.A. Sweeties and got ice cream. We talked about going to see a movie, but the only one playing was Seth Rogen's Sausage Party. So we opted to take a walk instead. We ended up walking and talking for hours and we covered about 9 miles. The highlight of the walk was Nic jumping into a dumpster at Krispy Kreme so we could feed donuts to the deer that were wondering the streets of Parma 2 weeks later Nic took Courtney to Brandywine Falls and pulled out a bottle of wine his friend Sean had bought for him to ask Courtney to be his girlfriend. In October 2024, Nic proposed to Courtney in Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo and we've been putting off wedding planning ever since. In the past 10 years we have: - Graduated from college - Made lots of career moves - Adopted 2 cats that are ruining our lives every day - Bought our first reliable cars - Bought a home - Toed the line of insanity on multiple home improvement projects - Visited 11 States and 3 Countries - Ate a lot of wings at Good Company - Fallen a little bit more in love every day We tell everyone all the time that we are very lucky because we have an incredible life that we've built together and we're so fortunate to have found each other and love each other as much as we do. We are so excited to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and our marriage with all of you. Each one of you is a special part of our lives and have impacted us positively in one way or another. We feel truly blessed to get to spend an evening with all of you!
