Texas State University

In the fall of 2012, a quiet night at the infamous Booth House quickly turned into a party. Bobby had just finished a game with his friends when he rubbernecked over a beautiful blonde (Kate Upton look-alike) walking into the kitchen. Little did they know this was the first night of the rest of their lives. Bobby’s fraternity, Sigma Chi and Nic’s Sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, teamed up regularly giving Bobby and Nic the perfect opportunity to get to know each other. After a long day of (extremely) exaggerating her knowledge of baseball at the Round Up festival in Austin, Texas, Nic and Bobby shared their first kiss. It wasn’t long after that Nic confessed her lack of sports wisdom, but Bobby already knew… “you called the umpire a referee, but I thought you were cute.” The two grew as friends over the years and Bobby graduated in 2014 and moved home to Colleyville, Texas. The distance put Nic on his mind more often than not and he knew he needed to make a move.

The Start of a lot of New Things

On February 21, 2015, they had just gotten back from playing laser tag with their friends. Nic won (and has the scorecard to prove it). Apparently, this didn’t bother Bobby; because he asked Nic to be his girlfriend and she couldn’t wait to say yes. The two did long distance for the next year and a half until Nic graduated in the spring of 2016. It was always her plan to move to Dallas for work after graduating but she never expected she would be moving in with her boyfriend’s parents. Bobby’s mom and stepdad graciously offer her their guest house lovingly referred to as: The Launching Pad. Both Bobby and his older sister, Adrienne, had stayed there after they moved home from college. When Nic moved north, Bobby was living in an apartment with his best friend Travis. The couple was ecstatic to finally be living closer to each other. In December of 2016 they brought home their first fur child, Russell, and unofficially moved in together, that night (Sorry Travis!). After Travis moved out, they lived in that apartment until they bought their first house in December of 2018. The first time they saw their little brick house on San Marcos Ln., it was fate.

The Proposal

August 31st 2019

After nine months of home ownership, Bobby and Nic were ready for a vacation. The love birds fled to their favorite spot in sunny San Diego with a couple day excursion to Catalina Island. The morning after arriving on Catalina, the two ventured for breakfast and strolled the Botanical Gardens before making the hike to Wrigley Memorial terrace. Nic stopped at the top to catch her breath from the hike and Bobby panted nervously as he rechecked his pocket for the thousandth time. They soaked in the views and Nic asked him if he was ready to go. She turned to get one last look as the last few people cleared out. Nic turned for Bobby and stopped short. There he was, down on one knee, hand outstretched, and one question that would change their lives forever. Nic and Bobby are so excited to share this next chapter with each of you!
