Question

Anything I should know about getting to Kent Island?

Answer

There is construction on the Bay Bridge resulting in a closed lane. Recent experience tells us that this adds an additional 45 minutes to an hour to get to Kent Island on a Friday. Please plan on building in some additional time to account for this.

Will there be transportation on the day of the wedding? This is a NEW FAQ as we recently added a formal transportation option. See also travel section for more details.

Answer

YES! This is a multi-part answer so bear with us! 1) If you are staying at the CBBC Inn, they offer a shuttle to and from the venue for the entire wedding event. Just call them up! If you wish to retire a little early, or even if you just forgot something! At the end of the reception, the CBBC Inn shuttle will be waiting if you are headed back to the Inn. 2) We have arranged for a 28-person shuttle bus to run from the Kent Narrows hotels (Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Best Western) to the venue starting at 3:30pm for the ceremony. 3) The same shuttle will also take folks headed to the after-party or back to Kent Narrows hotels after the reception. It will then do continuous loops on the half hour (last run leaves the Jetty at 1:15am) to take folks back to Holiday Inn and CBBC Inn (Hilton Garden Inn and Best Western are across the street from the Jetty). 4) There will also be a Jetty shuttle waiting to take over flow to the Jetty as well at the end of the Reception.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

The day following the wedding, Monday October 14, 2019 is Indigenous Peoples' Day, which is a federal holiday. This may impact travel in the Washington DC area. In addition, there is a sailboat show in Annapolis Oct 10-14 - https://www.annapolisboatshows.com/united-states-sailboat-show/. For the sailboat lovers, this may be a perfect opportunity to check out something interesting and local! Keep this even in mind if attempting to stay in Annapolis. The Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis offered decent rates when last checked (2/12/19).
