We're getting married!!

Meeting your future spouse at Grand Canyon University? It’s practically a Lopes tradition! Our paths first crossed at ‘The Rivers’ pool, surrounded by mutual friends. Nia was a junior starting nursing school and Silas was just beginning his senior year. From there, we’d run into each other at the gym, exchanging a few awkward hellos while working out just two feet apart (yikes!). But it was at a friend's birthday party—huge shoutout to our bridesmaid Jaycie— where we really connected for the first time. We have been inseparable since!

After the birthday party Silas slid into Nia's DMs with the now-famous line, "how's it been having time off from nursing school?" And from that movement, we've chatted every day since! For our first date, we went to Top Golf- be sure to ask who won. We wrapped up the night at Flower Child where we sat and talked for 4 hours in the restaurant. Some might say Nia was head over heals... but she definitely played it cool.
