Nia and Paul first met in elementary school when Paul transferred in during third grade. By fourth grade, they were classmates—and just one person apart in the school choir! 🎶 Although they went to different middle schools, fate (and Facebook!) brought them back together. Near the end of 8th grade, Paul found Nia online and sent her a message: "Hey, do you remember me?" That simple note reignited a connection that would grow stronger through high school, where they became close friends and made tons of memories. Then, one Sunday night in March 2012, Paul's older brother Abe grabbed the phone and said what everyone else was thinking: "You both clearly like each other—just go out already!" After an awkward laugh, Nia and Paul agreed… Abe was right. Not long after, they had their first official date at the Court Street Movie Theatre 🎭. A downpour drenched the city that night, and at the time they thought it had ruined everything. But now, looking back, they see it differently—because rain has come to symbolize strength, blessing, and new beginnings. Which brings us to a full circle moment: on May 5th, 2025, under a sky full of that same roaring rain, Nia and Paul quietly, joyfully, officially tied the knot at City Hall!!!!! 💍💎
