We’re getting married !

On the night of 1/25/19, Matthew and Nia both found themselves at a bar they had never been to before. Both were dragged by co workers and had no real desire to be in White Plains . Out of the blue,in the dark bar with an immense number of sweaty drunk ,dancing , strangers, Matthew approaches Nia to tell her, “You look so exotic.” Then he walks off into the crowd. Confused, Nia felt eyes watching her from behind, only to turn around and see the same weirdo from not even a minute ago. “Might as well get this guy to buy me a drink,” Nia thought to herself. The two conversed and danced all night. While dancing together, a young man forced himself on Nia and pushed Matthew to the side. Matthew, not knowing Nia at all , assumed it was her boyfriend and chose to back off until .... Nia pushed the guy off of her and made it clear she did not care what race he was; “Don’t touch me or this man I just met 5 minutes ago and don’t call me “sis!” And from that moment, Matthew and Nia have been inseparable. Battling and defeating many battles together, such as cultural differences , societal pressures, and still being young and finding themselves. However, on the night of 6/22/19 in Isla Mujeres, Mexico at the beach under the sunset, the two agreed that they wanted to be together forever. Side by side in this life fighting all challenges together , building one another up day by day, and to eventually creating a family to pass on their principles. Nia and Matthew have learned time does not measure love, but the actual relationship growing and lasting is what matters most and having friends and family behind you that support you is all you really need .
