We never imagined we’d find love through a dating app, but here we are! Our story began on Bumble, and with one simple swipe right—well, the rest is history. Funny enough, we had both downloaded and deleted the app many times before finally matching. Buc-ee's was our icebreaker, and from there, we couldn’t stop talking about family, food, and traveling. Every conversation felt like we’d known each other forever.
Our first impressions of each other started off strong—Victor brought Nhu a bouquet of flowers, and Nhu gifted Victor a bottle of homemade Thai tea. For our first date, Victor picked Maki, a local ramen shop he thought would be perfect because of our shared love of spicy food. Naturally, he had to test Nhu’s spice tolerance, so he ordered one of the spiciest ramen bowls on the menu. Turns out, Nhu handled the heat WAY better than Victor! After hours of talking and not wanting the night to end, we walked next door to Tea-Do for some boba. The date ended up lasting four hours, filled with nonstop conversation—and even then, we didn’t want it to be over. By the end of the night, as Victor left with his bottle of Thai tea and Nhu with her bouquet, we both knew we couldn’t wait to see each other again.
Family has always been a cornerstone of Victor's life, and Nhu’s warm, nurturing, and affectionate nature was enough to steal any man’s heart—especially his. After a year together, Victor knew he was ready to pop the question! What better way to plan the proposal than to disguise it as a special anniversary celebration? Victor told Nhu to dress up, get her hair and nails done, and be ready for an unforgettable day. We went to Brookside Gardens, our favorite park and one of the spots from our early dates. With Fluffy secretly in tow, Victor made sure the park was picture-perfect—clearing the background of any onlookers. Then, with the ring hidden in Fluffy’s pouch, Victor dropped to one knee and proposed to the future Mrs. Rojas.
