FAQs

Question

There are many events. Which events do I attend?

Answer

The tea ceremonies will be a more private event with our immediate family, relatives, and bridal party. We look forward to celebrating with everyone at our church ceremony at St. George and reception at Mon Cheri in Garden Grove.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

June 1, 2024 Our formal invitations should have made their way to you. Please mail the RSVPs back using the included postage and card. You are also welcome to hand-deliver them to us or RSVP via text/social media with the bride, groom, and any of our parents.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes and yes! There is plenty of public parking both at St. George for the ceremony and at Mon Cheri for the reception.

Question

What do guests do in between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There is typically a large intermission between the ceremony and reception for Vietnamese weddings. This allows time to transition/travel to the reception location and photography/videography with the bridal party. If local, you can rest comfortably in between. Our reception is in Garden Grove, the heart of Vietnamese cuisine in Southern California. For visiting guests, we would recommend lodging in Orange County so that you may also rest in between. However, many guests opt to explore the area in between the ceremony and reception.

Question

What can I expect at the church ceremony?

Answer

There will be a mix of Catholic and non-Catholic guests at our ceremony. If you are unfamiliar with a Catholic mass, we will have a printed program available as a guide. Additionally, the celebrants will also help guide guests throughout the celebration.

Question

What can I expect at a Vietnamese wedding reception?

Answer

1. There will be an abundant amount of food. Come ready to feast! 2. Our celebration will be in Vietnamese & English so that all of our guests may participate. 3. It is customary in the Vietnamese tradition that the newlyweds and their families do "table rounds" or "chào bàn" in their traditional Vietnamese garments (áo dài). They will go from table to table to personally thank guests and participate in toasts, typically led by one guest from each table. This occurs during dinner and typically follows the introduction and first dance. We are excited to share in this tradition with everyone in attendance!

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. FYI: The bridesmaids will be wearing a dusty/baby blue color.
