Things To Do

Here's some of our favorite spots on the island!

Elvin's Bakery

1210 Dillingham Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96817

This is Syd's parents bakery. It's a perfect pit stop on the way to the airport. (but they are closed on Mondays)

Helena's Hawaiian Food

1240 North School Street, Honolulu, HI 96817

This is our FAVORITE spot from some Hawaiian food. We recommend the pipikaula and the squid luau!

Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail, Waimanalo, HI 96795

Our favorite easy hike. We prefer to go in the morning so that it's not too hot!

Aloha Stadium Swap Meet

99-500 Salt Lake Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96818

We love to come here when we need souvenirs or gifts to bring back to the mainland. It's fun to walk around and see what the vendors have to offer. We recommend going in the morning to try and beat the heat!

Matsumotos Shave Ice

66-111 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa, HI 96712

This is Nhan's favorite Shave Ice spot

Waiola Shave Ice

2135 Waiola Street, Honolulu, HI 96826

This is Syd's favorite shave ice spot.

Liliha Bakery

515 North Kuakini Street, Honolulu, HI 96817

Yes, Syd's parents do own a bakery, but the poi donuts here are one of a kind.

Zippy's McCully

1725 South King Street, Honolulu, HI 96826

There many locations, but this is an iconic fast stop. Nhan would ask Syd bring a Korean fried chicken plate from Honolulu back to Portland while they were dating in college.

Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden

45-680 Luluku Road, Kaneohe, HI 96744

This garden is known for it's beautiful drive into the garden.

Tsurutontan Waikiki

2233 Kalākaua Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

This i s by far one o f Nhan and Syd's favorite spots in Waikiki. Their happy hour menu is a good deal, and the udon is so fresh!
