Matron of Honor
Vivian and I have known each other for our whole lives. We grew up together, played house together, rode bikes together, and went through life together. We are always there for each other when times get tough. I've always looked up to Vivian ever since I was a child. When we were kids and she would learn something new, she was always willing to teach me a new skill. Vivian is a bold, daring, and honest person. She's my ride or die buddy who has helped me check skydiving off my bucket list and is the only person I've ever gone with. Because Vivian is older than me, she has shown me what it looks like to enter into life milestones and paved a pathway for me to follow. I love having new adventures with her and there's never a dull moment with her around.
Maid of Honor
Cheyne and I have known each other since Beckman High School. It's funny how life works because we were always hanging out in the same group of friends, but we were not really that close. After graduating from undergrad at UCSC, I eventually ran into Cheyne multiple times and it always happened at Diamond Jamboree. I remember telling her that I worked at Fletcher Jones during those occasions. After that, Cheyne told me she got a job for a business admin position at Fletcher Jones and contacted me to hang out for dinner. I went to dinner not thinking too much into it, but I was slightly worried that the time we had apart would create an awkward conversation. We ended up having such a great time while laughing and catching up with each other. That was the moment our friendship began to blossom. Now, I consider her my best friend who deserves to be my maid of honor.
Bridesmaid
Selena, A.K.A "Thao Suong" for the Vietnamese folks. I can't believe she has now graduated from UC Riverside and earned her Bachelor's degree! I have literally seen her grow up from birth up until now. In the past, I used to get annoyed having to babysit this little girl when I was in middle school and high school. My parents did not trust my older brother too much to take care of her so I played the role of the older sister to watch over her majority of the time. Despite all those minor inconveniences, in the end I am so glad I was able to help take care of my baby sister to become the person that she is today. Selena has grown up to be an intelligent, kind, and genuine person. I can't wait to continue to be there for her when she reaches her future life milestones!
Bridesmaid
I first met Crystal back in my senior year of high school when I came over to Nolan's house for the first time! She is one of Nolan's sisters and loves him so much. Crystal was so sweet to me when we first met. I remember needing to borrow some clothes while I was at their house and Crystal was so eager to share her clothes with me. Ever since then, as I continued to spend a lot of time with Nolan's family, I started to see Crystal as a younger sister. Crystal and Jockey helped me write my personal statement when I was applying for OT schools. Soon after submitting my applications, I started receiving interviews and eventually got accepted into UMHB. Crystal is always willing to help me and provide support with my endeavors. I can't wait to finally call her my sister-in-law.
Bridesmaid
Myhanh and I first met at Behavioral Health Works (BHW). She initially started out as my new supervisor on one of the client cases. Typically, I don’t share so much information when I first meet someone. However, with Myhanh, I already felt comfortable with her and was willing to share my story. One day during one of our client sessions, I had requested a specific weekend off. After it was approved, Myhanh asked me if I happened to be going to Coachella that weekend. I could not lie to her so I said yes. Surprisingly, Myhanh also enjoyed going to those events and we bonded by sharing the same interests in music. One day, she invited me to hang out with her friends along with one of my other future bridesmaids. After that event, I started to see Myhanh more like a friend rather than my supervisor. Myhanh is such a compassionate and caring person. She has such a great heart and will always make the 1-2 hour drive from LA just to hang out with me and the girls! Myhanh has become one of my best friends and I am so glad to have her in my life.
Bridesmaid
Ruth and I also met at BHW when she onboarded as a parent consultant for one of the client cases. While Ruth observed my treatment sessions, she was intrigued by my willingness to role play with the kids. During the sessions, she complimented my physique by saying, "Wow, you look so toned!" Ruth knew how to boost my confidence without me looking for it. One day Myhanh, Ruth, and I were at work and we decided to make plans to workout together. It felt so exciting to help each other get into shape. Ever since then, Ruth and I would make plans to hang out with each other during our gaps between sessions. We called it "Ruth and Tiff time." Ruth is such a hardworking person and never gives up on her goals. She continues to persevere until she achieves them. Whenever we encounter problems during our hangouts, Ruth is always the first to say, "It's okay. We will figure it out. We are okay. We will get through this." She is always so positive and brings out the light in every complex situation.
Bridesmaid
Umi and I first met at a LA Fitness gym with Ruth and Myhanh. My first impression of Umi was that she is a “baddie” because she is tatted up and can do pull ups like a boss lady. Umi also lived in Irvine so we were able to catch up on a regular basis. I love hearing Umi's laugh whenever we hang out. She makes me feel like I am such a funny person. Sometimes I make statements, not meaning to be funny, and then I hear Umi burst out laughing at my straightforward comments. When I hear her laugh, I am immediately smiling and laughing too. I think to myself, "Wow! I am that funny? Now I know how Nolan feels." She is such a hype woman and gets super excited during our conversations. It is never a dull moment with her around.
Bridesmaid
Allison and I officially met at BHW along with Ruth and Myhanh. However, Allison and I had a previous encounter before BHW. When I first saw her, I was thinking to myself, “Why does she look so familiar to me? Where have I seen her?” Next thing I knew, I remembered that we both volunteered for Karate for All (KFA). I asked her, "Did you volunteer at KFA?" After she confirmed, we both realized that we had seen each other before volunteering at the same pediatric clinic! So funny how life works. There must've been a reason why we encountered each other the second time, which was for us to be in each other's lives as close friends. Allison is a great friend that is always willing to contribute when it comes to making plans with the girl squad. Allison is always open to trying new things and fun to hang out with. For example, once you show her some unique and new foods that she's never eaten before, she will always want to go again.
Bridesmaid
Jen and I became close because she is always so supportive of the activities that I participate in. One day, she came with me to go shopping for a dress for a wedding that I was about to attend. She always knew how to give honest feedback regarding fashion. Jen liked to give me plenty of options to try out and helped me make the right decisions. We found the perfect dress for the wedding and it works for casual outings as well. Jen knows how to be efficient and gives practical advice when it comes to making decisions. When I told Jen about attempting to be an ambassador, she was very supportive. She took photos of me wearing the free jewelry that I received to promote on Instagram. Although nothing came to fruition with the jewelry endeavor, we still had a fun photoshoot day and biking around Irvine Regional Park. Jen knew how to guide me on the right angles and took plenty of great photos. Jen is filled with interesting ideas and is always willing to help her friends in anything they pursue.
Best Man
Jacob and Nolan have been best friends since middle school. As teenagers, their friendship was born from sharing the same passions for drawing, design, and videogames (your typical nerdy teenage starter pack). In high school, they both endured the hard training involved in cross country and track & field. While they were both not the fastest runners in the group they were able to seek joy from sharing stories and making jokes while they ran 10+ miles. As adults, Jacob and Nolan still keep in touch and share their new passion for tiny trees (A.K.A bonsai) together. Jacob has always been inspiring in the way he pursues his passion for music and continues to explore new avenues for creativity. He currently lives in Seattle with his wife Kayla and his two daughters Aria and Ember.
Groomsman
Brenden is Nolan's cousin who currently lives in Seattle and works for Boeing. While they were kids, Nolan always loved cracking jokes and making Brenden laugh endlessly. Brenden always asked so many questions while growing up and Nolan always found his curiosity amusing and loved playing a role of an older brother. Their relationship remains the same, they still find time to joke around while also encouraging each other through their career and life challenges.
Groomsman
Marcus is Nolan's younger cousin who currently attends UC Davis and is working on completing his degree in urban planning. Nolan had the pleasure to watch Marcus grow up as they spent time together during family trips in Seattle. Marcus resembles a younger brother to Nolan and he is always willing to help guide him through his life journey and faith. They love occasionally playing online games (mainly Overwatch) together and chatting about their passion for fitness.
Groomsman
Nolan and Jockey first met when Crystal brought him to church for their first date. When Jockey introduced himself Nolan knew exactly why Crystal is interested in him. He is a strong, faithful, and relational man that has a heart for God and our family. When Crystal and him were dating he would be very interested in spending time with Nolan and his family as well. He didn't do this for brownie family points, but he was genuinely interested in our lives and our well-being. Ever since then, Nolan and Jockey have spent a lot of quality time together from family trips to even grabbing a simple cup of coffee. Jockey has become an integral part of Nolan's life and he is excited to have him by his side at the wedding.
Groomsman
Nathan and Nolan first met when they attended the industrial design program at San Jose State University. A big accomplishment is they were able to build a functional prosthetic leg together for their senior project. They both had casual interactions with each other in college, but their friendship began to truly grow when Nathan invited Nolan to attend his church. Because of Nathan, Nolan was able to find a welcoming community of believers and strengthen his connection with God. They both attended small groups together and traded stories of how God has been working in their lives. Nathan is a handyman, designer, and a lighthearted person. He always is willing to help and passionate about fixing just about anything (not limited to: cars, washing machines, or electronics.)
Groomsman
Alex is Nolan's fellow creative buddy that shares his passion for design and love for God. They first met at Newsong Church when Nolan and Tiffany were introduced through a mutual friend. Nolan knew Alex was someone special when they could talk for hours about furniture design and critique bad design that exists all around us. Nolan loves spending time with Alex and learning more about the joys and pressures we face as a creative. Alex isn't afraid to try different avenues to exercise his designer mindset and is a constant inspiration to Nolan's creative journey.
