Time for y'all to meet!

The Newsky Family Union 2025 event will be a weekend of planned activities and connection in Boise, Idaho happening the last weekend in May. Consider it a combination of an intimate wedding part 2, a not-that-distant sibling drum circle, drinking games for the in-laws and celebration of families both given and chosen. The Saturday Dinner & Party along with main dishes of the Friday BBQ will be provided, while other events will be provide-your-own. If finances are a factor in your intended participation, please let us know as we may be able to help accommodate sponsorship. Please consider this Save the Date as your invitation. We will follow up with you individually soon with more information and to inquire regarding RSVPs. The Friday BBQ and Sunday Brunch will be open invitation and we encourage you to bring friends! Brunch is intended to be open seating, but group seating may not be available depending on party size. Please note that there is no additional guest list or plus-ones for either the Top Golf, Nature Walk or Saturday Night events.

We are so looking forward to seeing you in Boise in two weeks! Evening temps should be on the cooler side, with hopefully warm sunny days. Top Golf Friday afternoon's Top Golf will have plenty of room for players and observers alike, with snacks and drinks, in an outdoor covered section of golf bays with space heaters. There is also an indoor seating area in case the weather isn't behaving. The address is 1050 S Silverstone Way Meridian, ID 83642 and our booths are available at 2:00 PM. It is about a 15 minute drive from either the airport or downtown. Our play is scheduled for 2 hours until 4:00. If you wish to make a contribution to offset costs, we suggest $30 for players and $10 for observers and this includes group food/drinks. We are thinking PayPal might be easiest (“Blake Newsky”), but honestly any and all payment methods are likely doable. BBQ Next up, Friday at 6:30 PM, is the BBQ in the park, which will be held at Elm Grove Park, 2200 W Irene St, about 20 mins drive from golf, 15 from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown. Blake's childhood family home, current residence of his parents Linda and Steven, is directly across the street from the park, 1721 N 22nd, and will be hosting a desert food truck, beverages, bathrooms and private hang-out spots. Traditional backyard BBQ fare will be provided, but there will be grill space for anything additional anyone wants to bring. Festivities are scheduled until 9:00 PM which is 18 minutes prior to when the sun is scheduled to set for that day. Boise summer evening times are a total trip! Nature Walk The next day's festivities begin with an outdoor group walk at 11am, and we are considering three options, Kathryn Albertson Park: meandering paved walkways around ponds with some nicely-curated landscape, The Boise Greenbelt: paved pedestrian/bike path along the river with overhead trees and many options for loops/start/stop points, and Cottonwood Creek Trail: popular beginner level dirt trail, downtown vistas, pretty wide, with moderate elevation change on a short ~1.5 mile loop or longer out-and-back for anyone wanting to get a workout. Evening Event Y'all will have the afternoon free and then we will have the party and dinner at 6:00 in downtown at Beside Bardenay 612 West Grove Street, Boise, Idaho 83702. Menu options coming very soon. Anya and Blake will be in a formal wedding attire just for funsies but there is no dress code. Newsky colors are pink, orange and green and you are encouraged to rep them in any way you desire. There will be a photographer present during the event. Apps, dinner, dessert and a few drinks will be provided, Brunch We have a reservation for a group brunch at 10:00 AM, also downtown at Tupelo Honey 150 N 8th St #200, Boise, ID 83702.
