Our Story

First comes Thurston, then comes marriage.

Lauren & Clark first met during their freshman year at The George Washington University, where they lived on the same floor of the infamous Thurston Hall dormitory. Although they didn’t date in college, Lauren & Clark were always in close proximity to one another through their broad group of mutual friends. They even shared their first kiss on a fuzzy evening freshman year, but remained just friends for the rest of college. Years after graduating, Lauren & Clark re-met by coincidence in New York City. They separately thought they were simply meeting friends for a night out in the Lower East Side, and much to their surprise they were reconnected once again in a dimly lit dive bar. Run-ins through friends would be a staple of theirs over the next several months while Clark moved into the city. Lauren's sorority sister Kelley needed a last minute roomie and enlisted Clark, Lauren’s coworker LG coincidentally went to high school with Clark’s college buddy Max, and even Lauren’s best friend Margaret, who Clark had always referred to as his “drinking buddy” throughout college, encouraged them to see each other. Lauren & Clark spent many late nights reconnecting at their favorite taquito shop, and officially rekindled their spark on the Niagara dance floor on Clark's birthday. Eight years since then, they've thrived in Manhattan together, moving five times, traveling around the world, surviving the pandemic, and even adopting a little furry bundle of energy Kiki. Once Clark finally asked Lauren to marry him, the question became “where would we throw this long overdue party to celebrate?” New Orleans of course… Before Clark was back in the picture, Lauren saw a few psychics for fun over the years - one in DC who told her that her soulmate's name would start with the letter "C", and one during a New Orleans girls' trip who was comically wrong about everything. Lauren's love for New Orleans started on that trip with her girlfriends, and Lauren & Clark have now made many new memories together in this magical city. Lauren & Clark are jokingly referred to as “wedding guests for hire” since they’ve shown up and shown out at nearly 20 weddings together, and now it’s their turn! They’re so excited to celebrate their love from The Big Apple to The Big Easy with you!!
