Jo is one of the most intelligent, creative, and skilled people I know, who can pick up new talents in a heartbeat. Whether it be surfing, law, or coffee, Jo can do it all and do it well.

Akela is the oldest of my sisters as well as my best friend. I followed in Akela’s footsteps to Pepperdine University where she welcomed me into her life there and walked with me through the transition of living away from home for the first time. She has always been a role model in my life and someone I have admired and looked up to the most. I have always viewed Akela as one of the strongest and most caring women in my life in her vulnerability and the way she has always looked out for my sisters and I. Now working in her dream job as a flight attendant for Hawaiian Airlines, Akela is extremely driven and I will forever love her goofy sense of humor and our shared love for adventure!
Brandon Garcia

Brandon has easily been my longest and most consistent friend. We've known each other since we were 5 years old, and I have shared more experiences, seasons, and classes with Brandon, than anyone else in life. Brandon is someone who is in tune with his passions, gifts, and faith, and has had to consistently overcome hardship and challenges to live true to his callings. I am privileged to have had such an unwavering friend for the past 20 years.
Shanae Lim

My second older sister Shanae wears many different hats as a military wife, dog mom, entrepreneur, brand ambassador, content creator, and small business owner (psst go check out her stuff @amberandsea)! Shanae is one of the most creative and hilarious people I know and is frequently considered the “Life of the Party” in social settings with all of the laughter, silliness, and witty humor she brings! On the flip side, I have also always loved and admired the depth, thoughtfulness, and intentionality she brings into conversations. Shanae has always been there to speak truth into my life and is a constant inspiration and source of encouragement for me in her words but also in the way she lives life and treats others. I feel so blessed to get to call her my sister and best friend!

Time and trust are critical factors to a friendship. Over the past few years, Josh and I have been able to spend countless hours, days, and weekends growing in our friendship as rock climbing partners. I literally trust Josh with my life, and without hesitation. This trust and depth of friendship goes beyond climbing, and I am privileged to have such an incredible friend who will push me to grow in my faith, relationships, and values, in addition to climbing:)
Tia Newman

Tia is my youngest sister and partner in crime! We shared a room growing up together so she has also been my longest roommate! The grace in which she moves as a dancer, surfer, and diver translates effortlessly into the way she treats people. Tia has the most gentle, considerate, and kind heart of anyone I know and is always going out of her way to help others. She has stood by my side through thick and thin and has taught me so much through the virtues she exemplifies: gentleness, humility, grace, patience, and kindness. Tia is constantly inspiring me and challenging me to be a better version of myself and I just hope I grow up to be as wonderful as she is someday.

Jay is Daniel's younger sister and soon-to-be my new sister as well!! I first met Jay just before she started college at Pepperdine University and it has been such a blessing to have gotten to do life with her in that season and watch as she discovered her passion for teaching and working with children. Jay is a bright, genuine, fun, and positive social butterfly and, like her older brothers, is naturally talented at sports and all forms of art! I treasure all of the many meaningful conversations, sweet moments, and fun adventures I've had with Jay and I can't wait to call her family!

Ke'alohi Wang

Ke'alohi has been my longest close friend by far! Our moms knew each other while we were still in the womb and we were born only 2 months apart. Ke'alohi moved to a different island when we were young so we became pen pals to maintain our long-distance friendship between visits. Ke'alohi is someone whose friendship has always felt natural and genuine and no matter how long it's been since we've seen each other, we always pick up as if it's been no time at all. Ke'alohi is a gifted artist, writer, surfer, and her heart and soul are truly with Hawai'i. I feel so incredibly thankful to have such a wonderful, lasting friend in her and someone who understands and knows me like a sister.
Ashley (Ash) Whitaker

Ash went to Pepperdine for grad school but we actually met through a mutual friend during my time working in Yosemite. We bonded immediately and she came back to Yosemite several times to visit until she eventually came to work with/for me and we got to do life together consistently. Ash has been one of the most steadfast friends in my life and has always been there to discuss the hard and important questions, speak truth into my life, and just have ridiculous, fun adventures together. I believe that even without her Masters in Psychology, Ash is naturally gifted at empathizing, counseling, and making people feel heard. Ash is one of the most selfless people I know and someone who expresses her care so deeply and intentionally and has been one of the best examples to me of the unconditional love that Christ has for us.
Rachel Yoshimura
BRIDESMAID & OFFICIANT
Rachel and I met our Freshman year at Pepperdine and she grew up, wait for it... 3 MINUTES away from where I grew up on O'ahu! We shared several mutual friends, favorite surf breaks, etc. so it astounds us that we hadn't met sooner. We started getting close in our 3rd year of college, which is when she also met Daniel and introduced us for the first time! Daniel and Rachel worked in the same staff group at Pepperdine and she invited him to come surfing with us one day, which only kicked off the first of many "surf dates" together to follow. Rachel was also the person that Daniel and I both confided in that we liked each other but, if you know Rachel well, she can't lie and couldn't hide her excitement and knowledge of Daniel's feelings for me any longer! Rachel wasn't just there in the beginning of mine and Daniel's relationship, she has stood by our sides through the best and the worst parts of it and has been a huge source of encouragement and wisdom for me through it all. It has been a huge blessing for me to get to walk with Rachel through so many different seasons of our lives and witness the continuously beautiful transformations in her life. Rachel is one of the goofiest people I know, a multifaceted athlete, public speaking guru, an inspirational leader in the church, and a woman after God's heart. Daniel and I could not be more excited for Rachel to stand by both of our sides and officiate our relationship that she has invested so greatly in!
