Long story short, Chase and Abigail have both met on a dating service app called Upward, an app designed for individuals to match each other at the swipe of a finger. Think of it like Tinder, except more focused on individuals with a Christian background. Now before the Baby Boomer generation starts grudging and shaking their heads, rest assured, this app would get them both on the right track. The conversation started subtle on the site, but eventually, Chase asks for Abigail's phone number and the rest goes. They would eventually book their first date to meet up at Sundance Square in Downtown Fort Worth, getting to know each other face-to-face for the first time. They booked another date to meet up at the Dallas Zoo the next day. A couple of weeks later, Chase decided he wanted to travel from Dallas all the way to Lubbock, TX, where Abigail, at the time, was enrolled at Texas Tech University (Guns Up). Once he let Abigail know his dates, it was off to the races. On that Saturday, November 12th, they hung out all day before Chase decided to ask "Is it safe to say we are officially dating?" of course, Abigail responded with "I don't know you haven’t asked me!" Drawing out the question: "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks. Abigail, without hesitation, said yes and the two became official. All in a span of nearly two months of knowing each other. They would attend church the next morning to hear the great message of the Lord, and Chase headed his way back home, knowing that he just kickstarted the next big chapter in both of their lives.
Chase, did tell himself early on that he knew once he started dating Abigail, that she is the person he needed to marry. Secretly Abigail was thinking the very same thing. Right before Chase took the next steps, he wanted to wait on their 3 month anniversary as a couple. He told himself make it past that point and waste no time. February 12th and Valentines day passes, and guess what? Chase and Abigail are still together! By this time, Chase is 100% confirmed to grab that ring for her and went to work. It is mid March, Chase at this point has the ring. Chase would text his younger brother, Sam, and told Sam he needed him for their engagement. Chase would also tell Abigail's sister, Emily, the same thing. Knowing how important it was to Chase and Abigail to have their younger siblings there, Chase needed these two to make it or the engagement would have to wait until another day. Once everything was together Chase would booked four tickets to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens for the four of them on Saturday, April 15th. Fast forward to the day, after complications with a security guard, and many steps of walking, Chase finally popped the question to Abigail: "Will you marry me?" Abigail, crying in happiness, said yes. Chase then double-checked with her if she really wanted to, because after all, he even said so himself that he could be some work. Sam and Emily, being the outgoing younger siblings they are, celebrated the occasion and made sure everyone noticed and made it a big deal. They made sure the presentation was top-notch. If one finger was an inch off, they would redo the photos! All jokes aside, Sam and Emily played a vital role in making Chase and Abigail's day a special one, and they couldn't be thanked enough. Chase and Abigail only needed 5 months before they were ready for the next step. Most people will feel as if 5 months is too short, and very few will view it as too long. As silly as the concept sounds, couples just know when the time is right. Could be 2 months, could be 2 years. It just depends on how long it takes for each partner to see things through. God also knew for Chase and Abigail the timing was right for them. They both rely on God to know when exactly things need to play out, and their faith in him gives them the courage and strength to proceed forward. Now as an engaged couple, new challenges lie ahead, but their trust in each other and God would only grow stronger.
First and foremost, Chase and Abigail have to actually marry each other. That is kind of an important step. In all seriousness, Chase and Abigail after marriage, plan to stay in the DFW area for close to a year to gain more experience in their careers and then hopefully move to the northeast Texas region in the future, where they can truly begin their next chapter in building their family life. However, who knows what will happen. It is hard to dictate and predict where life will take them down the line, but their trust in each other, as well as well as their trust in God, will help guide them to a happy marriage.
