Our Story

Matt & I met senior year at Sequoyah through mutual friends. I originally targeted Matt to be my friend bc he was super shy around girls. Thought I’d lighten him up a bit. Mission accomplished I guess

We went to senior prom together & officially admitted that we liked each other as more than just friends. Matt says he asked me to prom, but I’m pretty sure I asked him.Jury’s still out on that one.

Matt got a full ride to Reinhardt for lacrosse & I started college at KSU. Matt originally thought he wanted to be a doctor & I wanted to pursue teaching at the time.

I drove to Reinhardt every weekend to hang out & watch lots of lacrosse. We made many new friends & it brought us even closer! Shoutout to Buddy from Chevron for sponsoring our spicy uno nights.

We were dating for around 2 years at this point! Around this time I decided I wanted to be a nurse instead of a teacher!! I eventually transferred to Reinhardt for nursing school too!

We we're onto year 4 here & Matt started to stray away from being a doctor once he heard some of my gross nursing stories. Now he is a teacher! So in a way we kinda switched :)

Just a pic of us at my sisters wedding May 2021! Her last name is now Butz. Ewwwww!! ;) My sister just had a beautiful baby girl in May 2023. We have now upgraded to Uncle Matt & Aunt Becky!

Matt's sisters wedding! Honored to soon be taking her last name. She is now Sydney Cudney. It rhymes. Around this time is when Matt decided he wanted to propose. The secretive planning began...

Feb '23 I was gallivanting in Europe blissfully while Matt & our families hustled to prepare a surprise engagement party. Apparently I have to be on another continent in order to be surprised.

Thought I was throwing Matt a surprise birthday party, but it turned out I was planning my own surprise engagement party. Matt said a lot of words we both blacked out for, but I said yes!!!

MTV welcome to our crib. We bought a house in Woodstock, Georgia!!! We are officially homeowners as of July 2023!
