Hailey and I met only out of sheer luck. Her high school best friend happened to be my college best friend. If it weren't for Ashleigh Thoele, we would have never met, so thanks, Ash, for everything! We met on November 4th, 2017. Hailey came to College Station to visit Ashleigh for the weekend and to go to the Maroon Out game. I happened to pull tickets with Ashleigh, so we were all going to be together at the game. When Ashleigh introduced us we talked briefly. I asked a few questions, how do you know Ashleigh? Where do you go to school? We talked for a bit, but nothing major. There was nothing significant about our conversations, but as I think back on that day, I don't remember a single thing about the game itself, aside from the fact that we were playing Auburn. However, I do remember the exact section we were all in, the fact that we all went to the concessions together, Hailey offering me some of her nachos, oh and her saying she liked my shoes! After the game, Ashleigh texted me and asked if I wanted to come over to her apartment complex and play volleyball. Of course I wanted to, so I went over and Hailey was there playing as well! This was the first time I got to see how much she loved sports and how competitive she was! Needless to say, that left an impression on me! A day or two after that I asked Ashleigh for Hailey's number. Once I had her number, I spent hours procrastinating studying for a business law test while trying to figure out what my first text to Hailey would be. I'm sure it wasn't anything overly clever, but it started the conversation. One text lead to non-stop texts, phone calls, and Face Time calls. Though we had only met in person once we instantly had a great connection and I knew she was special. A few weeks later I asked her to be my girlfriend. Fortunately she said yes and made me incredibly happy! We spent the next few years in a long distance relationship. We would meet up as often as we could and face timed every night. Once COVID hit, we ended up spending the entire summer together, and in July 2020 we ended up moving in together in Fort Worth! After living together for around a year, I asked Hailey to spend the rest of her life with me in June 2021! Again, fortunately, she said yes and made me happier than I have ever been! We have now lived together for two years and now live with our cat, Rye, and our dog, Bandit!
