After a long night of "soda" drinking at a lawn fete in Brant, NY together, Adam and Gabbie went on their first date. It really was more of a hung over lunch, but if you know them, you wouldn't expect anything else. Gabbie INSISTED on picking Adam up. If you know Gabbie, you shouldn't be surprised by this either. As she got to her destination, she realized that she was pulling into a summer camp. Gabbie was mortified! Did she just get stood up for being a weirdo trying to pick up a guy on their first date? Long story short, Gabbie put in the wrong address. After she picked Adam up, they went to Red Top for lunch. Gabbie refused to let Adam pay because she was embarrassed at the amount of food she just ordered to try and get rid of her hang over. Even with Gabbie assertiveness, Adam and her have been together ever since!
On the summit of Whiteface in a cloud (for real it was very cloudy), Adam asked Gabbie to marry him. Adam is not a hiker and also has a fear of dropping things at great heights; so you can imagine how nerve-racking this was for him. Not to mention, after months of planning, Gabbie threw a fit that the summit wasn’t clear and almost turned the car around. As Adam was questioning if this was the right moment, Scotty McCreery’s song “This Is It” came on the radio. Adam took it as a sign that this was going to be their special moment. So 4,867 feet in the air, in the privacy of a cloud, Adam got down on one knee to ask Gabbie to be stuck with him forever. She uncontrollably cried out of happiness because she was going to marry her best friend.
