I was born and (mostly) raised in Portland, Oregon. Samuel and I met in 7th Grade in CYO football, just before we started class at Christ the King. We continued to maintain our friendship throughout middle school and into high school, where we had the opportunity to learn, grow, and embarrass ourselves together. When we got to college at OSU we put up with each other as roommates, which is in many ways the ultimate test of friendship. Now we're both back in Portland, we live about a mile away from each other in Sellwood. I'm currently studying environmental law Lewis & Clark Law School.

My name is Anna Dethlefs, Alicia's little sister! We are 7 years apart but are best friends. I am a Sophomore at La Salle Catholic College Preparatory, which is where Sam and Alicia first met. I met Sam 6 years ago when he started dating my sister, and he is now like a big brother to me. Sam and I love to make fun of Alicia and play games (I always win, sorry Sam!). I am so excited to be a part of the wedding, and I hope I don't ugly cry!

I’m Samuel’s brother and first roommate. I pride myself on having saved his life once when he sleepwalked off the top bunk as a young child. I’m a professional performer based in NY, and I am very excited to have some time off to be a part of this beautiful couple's big day! So proud of this young man for taking this big step! I'm Sam's big sister and work at a regional energy efficiency nonprofit in downtown Portland. I have loved watching him grow into the wonderful man that he is, and it has been a pleasure getting to know Alicia over the last several years, seeing their love and friendship blossom.

I'm Alicia's biggest brother, not age-wise, and you could say that I am the one who brings the humor in this family. I graduated from La Salle, where I was able to see the strange relationship between Sam and Alicia grow to marriage. Sam truly fits the Dethlefs family requirements: stubborn, sarcastic, and capable of keeping up with my comedy. Speaking of my humor, I was voted second funniest male my senior year of La Salle (allegedly). I am currently going to the same college where my Mom and Dad met, Western Oregon University. I am majoring in Criminal Justice and have been learning American Sign Language. I know Sam and Alicia are a perfect match.

Partially because my sister seems undateable, but mostly because Sam is just such a great guy. I write for a living. My favorite book is The Magicians. Sorry ladies, I'm not single. I am ready to celebrate with the happy couple!!

I’m Kary! I am an Illustrator and Painting Instructor. I have the biggest crush on Alicia’s oldest brother, Aaron, so I met her through him. I got to know Alicia and Sam best during a long trip through South Africa and Europe with the Dethlefs. (Some of my fondest memories of us are being sick on Malaria pills together...lol.) Over the past three years of knowing these two I have come to love them like siblings. I couldn’t be more excited for them and this adventure they are on!

I'm Aaron, the oldest sibling in the Dethlefs family. I just recently graduated from OSU with a double major in mathematics and physics. I currently study the thermal properties of flight components headed for space and other odd materials for the aerospace industry. I spend what little free time I have playing chess, video games, and reading sci-fi books. At heart, I'm a thespian trapped in the body of a scientist.
